Transparency

In an effort to maintain transparency to our membership, partners and funders ENAHPA reports on the progress and value of work performed during the fiscal year. Because we are a ‘lean’ organization more than 95% of all services are donated. The Board of Diretors and Executive Leadership Team is comprised entirely of volunteers.

Highlights

In addition to our continuing programs and services, here are some highlights from FY 2008:

  • 55 Complex invasive surgeries performed
  • Three Medical/Surgical Missions completed, including emergency medical care
  • 7,500 HIV/AIDS patients treated with Anto-Retroviral drugs
  • 600 primary HIV/AIDS orphans sponsored through the Orphan Support Program
  • The Surgical Skills Learning Laboratories were dedicated at Addis Ababa and Gondar Universities
  • 1.6 million USD worth of medical books, teaching aids and journals were donated to Ethiopian Universities
  • ENAHPA and Ethiopian Medical Association (EMA) launch Continuing Medical Education Program (CME)

Finances

ENAHPA relies on a combination of fiscal and in-kind support from friends and supporters as well as our membership. The large majority of our donations come from in-kind donations; as we expand our membership we would like to continue to increase fiscal contributions proportionately.
